What gets done

To ensure sustainable access to safe drinking water for rural communities by establishing community-owned water quality monitoring systems, promoting affordable household water treatment practices, and strengthening government capacity and policy support for drinking water quality in 20 Gram Panchayats across Mashobra and Kunihar blocks of Shimla and Solan Districts respectively.

  1. 01Baseline survey of 990 households in 180 villages across the 20 gram panchayats, representing about 9,700 households
  2. 02138 Master Trainers trained in household water treatment and safe storage, drinking water quality testing and community WASH promotion
  3. 03872 people trained by the Master Trainers: ASHA and Anganwadi workers, self-help group members, community volunteers, schoolchildren and teachers
  4. 04WASH training for 19 public administration officials and 149 newly elected Zila Parishad representatives across nine districts
  5. 05Jal Strotra Yatras and Jal Raksha campaigns to reach 7,500 households on safe drinking water practices
  6. 06Partnerships with Jal Shakti Vibhag, the National Rural Livelihood Mission, and the education and rural development departments
